Sept 3, 2019

I-OnAsia is pleased to announce that Mr. Oliver Laurence has joined the company as Managing Director UK & Europe. Mr. Laurence will become responsible for I-OnAsia operations in the UK and Europe, and will be based in England. The move is accompanied by I-OnAsia’s acquisition of OJT Investigations Group in Australia.

I-OnAsia is an Asia focused investigations and security consulting company with global reach. I-OnAsia is a market leader in pre-IPO due diligence involving Asia headquartered businesses, litigation support on behalf of law firms, anti-corruption and fraud investigations. Acquisition of OJT Investigations Group, an Australian corporate investigations company founded by Mr. Laurence in 2016 is a natural progression of an already successful partnership, says Mr. Derek Elmer, I-OnAsia’s founder and group Chief Executive Officer.

“We are all excited to have Oli join I-OnAsia to lead the UK and Europe business, Oli set the gold standard as a PI on Australia’s east coast in Brisbane and growing his business to serve clients all over Australia, Oli has featured in many news paper stories and television interviews woth regards to investigations he has undertaken.

Oliver was an accomplished police officer and he has an excellent track record as a private investigator, with big wins on big cases.” Mr. Laurence was named the 2019 Investigator of the Year by the Association of British Investigators (ABI), this came after ensuring the safe release of an Australian National from Singapore, being held on death penalty charges. Oliver began his career in law enforcement in the Metropolitan Police as cadet in 1999 before emigrating to Australia with his family and joining the South Australian Police, after 5 years he moved to the Queensland Police Service, achieving the rank of Sergeant and running small stations. Mr. Laurence then was an international investigator with the Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection working in the countries offshore processing centre, Nauru, as an Ethical Standards Investigator before becoming a security industry entrepreneur back in Australia.

“OJT Investigations Group and I-OnAsia have become strong partners over the past two years”, says Mr. Elmer. “Through some of the most difficult crisis management and risk management assignments for our very best clients, I’ve seen first-hand that Oli and his team are equally dedicated to success and the highest standards of conduct.” OJT Investigations Group operatives will now be integrated into I-OnAsia’s risk advisory practice, headquartered in Hong Kong. Mr. Laurence’s primary responsibility will be to leverage I-OnAsia’s resources in Asia and his own experiences in the region on behalf of UK and European clients. Mr. Laurence’s responsibilities will also include providing risk advisory services directly to UK and European clients, including liaison with local law enforcement.
