Senior Consultant & Member of I-OnAsia Board of Advisors

Richard ("Dick") Hudak has worked as the Senior Consultant within I-OnAsia's Hotel Safety & Security Practice. He is a recognized expert in hotel and resort security throughout the world and is bilingual in the Spanish language. He also has a great deal of experience in executive protection. Dick joined I-OnAsia from Loews Corporation in June 2007, where he had security responsibility for a number of its subsidiaries, including Loews Hotels and Bulova Watch Corporation. Dick joined Loews after more than nine years as Director of Worldwide Security for ITT Sheraton Hotels, where he had established himself as an expert in hotel, resort and casino security with security oversight for over 500 properties in 64 countries. Dick saw combat action in Vietnam with the U.S. Marine Corps, where he attained the rank of Captain and was awarded a Navy Commendation Medal. Dick was later appointed as a Special Agent in the FBI, where he served for 11 years. In 1982, Dick left the FBI and joined Ackerman & Palumbo Inc., providing a number of services for Fortune 500 companies with international operations. Dick is qualified as an expert witness in security matters in State and U.S. District Courts, he has written numerous articles, and has provided expertise at security conferences from Rome to Jakarta. In addition, he was employed as an Adjunct Professor at John Jay College Masters Degree Program in 2004-2005 teaching Contemporary Issues in Security management.

Celina Realuyo is President of CBR Global Advisors, an international strategic consulting firm providing innovative solutions to global challenges. Ms. Realuyo has over 16 years of international experience in the public and private sectors, with extensive expertise in national security affairs, enterprise and political risk management, international banking, counterterrorism finance and anti-money laundering, business development, and public advocacy. As Assistant Professor of Counterterrorism at the National Defense University’s School for National Security Executive Education, she instructs top U.S. and foreign military and civilian leaders on foreign policy and counterterrorism strategies. Ms. Realuyo served as the Director of Counterterrorism Finance Programs in the U.S. Secretary of State’s Office of the Coordinator for Counterterrorism in Washington, D.C. Ms. Realuyo holds an M.B.A. from Harvard University, M.A. in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), B.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, and Certificate from l’Institut d’Etudes Politiques (Sciences Po) in Paris, France.

Karen has twenty-one year veteran of the New York City Police Department who has lived the past eight years in Johannesburg. As the Coordinator of Training, Karen oversaw the training of three thousand members of the New York City Police Department assigned to Patrol Borough Brooklyn North. These members were tasked with the safety and security of over one million five hundred thousand residents of this large urban area. The training consisted of firearms qualification, IN TAC - a tactical awareness course to handle situations encountered in the field, diversity awareness, MOI methods of instruction (training the trainer) and supervisory in-service training. A portion of her tenure was spent as a member of the Manhattan South Task Force, a specialized unit responsible for rapid mobilization to riots, demonstrations and crowd control. The protection of dignitaries, ensuring the safety of spectators and participants at parades, street fairs, concerts, sporting and cultural events, was the thrust of this unit. Karen received a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from St. Joseph’s College in Brooklyn. She holds a JD from the City University of New York School of Law and is a member of the New York bar.

Robert Elliott has had an expansive career in law enforcement. His initial work for the US Treasury Department in international drug investigations resulted in a major role in enhancing international intelligence. He went on to help initiate the first anti-terrorism program in the United States for the US Treasury Department and US Marshall Services. Directing this project throughout the world, this program coordinated with the FBI, CIA and most intelligence gathering agencies worldwide. In the 1970s, Mr. Elliott worked as an investigator for a New Jersey County Prosecutor’s office, starting its first full time Child Abuse unit, and heading its Criminal Financial Transactions Unit. His responsibilities included white collar crime, municipal corruption, investigations and corporate fraud and organized crime. He is a Certified National Criminal Justice Administrator. Mr. Elliott has served the private corporate sector and legal profession owning a large investigative company for over 20 years, coordinating problem-solving at its best, through the use of his worldwide network of experts. Mr. Elliott is a member of the American Society of Industrial Security, the Fraternal Organization of Police, the National Police Chiefs Association, the International Police Chiefs Association and is an associate member of the New Jersey Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

David Gourevitch is an attorney with experience both defending and prosecuting a broad range of securities frauds and white-collar crimes, including financial/accounting fraud, stock manipulation, broker-dealer fraud, sales practice abuses, insider trading, tax fraud, bank fraud, money laundering and tax evasion.. Before entering private practice, he served in the Securities and Exchange Commission's Enforcement Division and in the New York District Attorney's Investigations Division. As a prosecutor and SEC enforcement lawyer for over nine years, he brought major domestic and international securities and bank fraud cases. He has served as lead counsel in multiple jury trials and has experience in parallel proceedings with the SEC, CFTC, NASD, NYSE, New York Investor Protection Bureau and Comptroller of the Currency. He has taught as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center and Brooklyn Law School. He is the former chairman of the New York County Law Association's Securities Enforcement Subcommittee. He frequently speaks to professional groups, including the American Bar Association, the American Conference Institute and the New York County Lawyers' Association, on recent developments in securities enforcement. He is a featured legal commentator on CNBC, CNN and Bloomberg Radio and is frequently quoted in Business Week, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, USA Today and the Financial Times. Mr. Gourevitch received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where he was executive editor of the Georgetown Law Review. He graduated Order of the Coif and magna cum laude and clerked for U.S. District Court Judge Harold H. Greene. He is admitted to practice in New York and Washington, D.C., and the bars of the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of Columbia, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and District of Columbia, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Scott Nelson is currently the Founder and President of the Security & Risk Management Group (SRMG), LLC, a global full service security company providing secur-link services for key individuals and corporations. SRMG specializes in integrated, strategic solutions that are effective, efficient, and economical. These services include threat risk analysis, site surveys, due diligence, investigations, executive protection, crisis management, travel risk management, protection of intellectual property, training, education, and security marketing. He is on the Board of Advisors for several corporations, including I-OnAsia, LTD. Mr. Nelson is currently an adjunct professor at the Webster University Graduate School of Business and Technology teaching Organizational Behavior and Management, Psychosocial Criminal Behavior, Ethics, Protective Security Law, Business Asset Protection, and Criminal Policy, Practices, and Procedures.

Prior to the founding of SRMG, Mr. Nelson served across the globe as a officer in the U.S. Marine Corps including assignments as an infantry platoon commander, infantry company commander, intelligence officer, and battalion operations officer. For combat action he was awarded the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, and the Presidential Unit Citation. Mr. Nelson was also a Deputy Assistant Director – Inspector in the FBI with assignments in a variety of critical investigative, tactical, and senior leadership positions. He was awarded the FBI Star for valor and received numerous other awards and commendations during his career.

In his early career, Mr. Nelson was Vice President of Security for Warner Bros. Studios, Burbank, CA (Security Department, Fire Department, Office of Emergency Services, Office of Investigations, Medical Services) and also the senior security executive for Time Warner Inc., NYC, responsible for global protection of people, property, systems, and information for the largest entertainment company in the world. He was commended by senior management for leading the 911 corporate response team in NYC.

Mr. Nelson has a BS Degree in Business Management from Jacksonville University, and attended Rutgers University and Long Island University where he obtained a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice. He attended numerous prestigious schools throughout his career including the USMC Officers Basic Course, The Jungle Warfare School, the Federal Executive Institute, and the FBI Academy.

Mr. Nelson is a member of, the Society of Former FBI Agents, The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), the Department of State Overseas Advisory Council (OSAC), the FBI InfraGard, the FBI National Academy Associates (FBINAA), The American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), the USMC First Division Association, and the First Battalion Fifth Marines Association. He often provides expert commentary in the media regarding urban conflict, crime, and terrorism, most recently appearing on CNN and LA News/Talk 1260 and 540 KGIL. He has published numerous articles, including “21st Century Policing on the Internet”, participated in criminal justice webinars, and he co-produced/narrated two popular audio visual presentation, The FBI: Legacy & Legends, for the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI. He lectures widely on leadership, urban conflict, and criminal justice speaking at Rand Corp., The Conference Board, the U.S. Marine Corps, the Naval Aegis Cruiser USS Hue City, the FBI National Executive Institute, the Federal Executive Institute, FBI InfraGard, and other prestigious groups.
